This Privacy Policy governs the tutlabs Mobile Application (available on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store) and our official website located at https://tutlabs.in (collectively referred to as the "Services").
By downloading, registering, or using our Services, you consent to the collection, use, disclosure, and retention of your personal data as outlined in this policy. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not access our web platform or mobile app.
2. Information We Collect
To deliver our geo-verified home tutor matching and scheduling service, we collect personal information necessary to safely connect parents with expert tutors.

3. Mobile App & Device Permissions (Google Play Requirements)
To ensure safety, security, and verification of lesson delivery, the tutlabs Mobile Application requires access to specific system-level APIs on your mobile device. We only request these when actively needed in the application:
Why we collect it: We access your device's coordinates in real-time during check-in to verify that the tutor is physically present within range of the scheduled session address. This serves as a 2-step verification process to ensure session transparency, correct timing logs, and billing accuracy. Location tracking is only active during the check-in and check-out events and is not tracked in the background when the app is closed.
Why we collect it: The app requests camera access exclusively to capture real-time photo evidence at the lesson site during the check-in audit process. This photo evidence is uploaded to verify session validity and protect both the student and the tutor.
Why we collect it: Allows users (such as tutors or parents) to optionally select a pre-captured photo or document from their gallery to upload as verification evidence.
4. How We Use Your Information
We process personal data under the lawful basis of contract execution and legitimate business interest. Specifically, data is used to:
- Coordinate matches between certified expert home tutors and interested students based on academic level and geographical location.
- Provide instant SMS, WhatsApp, and email alerts confirming demo slot bookings and home visit schedules.
- Track check-in/check-out logs at the lesson site using GPS metrics to guarantee that the home sessions are completed safely.
- Securely process online payments and manage cancellations or refund allocations through integrated payment processors.
- Prevent unauthorized multiple accounts, system abuse, or fraudulent lead registration.
5. Sharing & Disclosure
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Your information is only shared under strict data confidentiality agreements with:
- Matched Tutors: We share your general location, student class, and subjects with matched expert tutors so they can prepare for and locate the lesson site. Your precise coordinate maps are not shared directly with them.
- Cloud Infrastructure Providers: Our database and servers are hosted using secure cloud portals (like Supabase, AWS, and Vercel) compliant with top-tier security controls.
- Payment Processors: Encryption-based payment pipelines (like Razorpay) process transaction charges. We do not store full payment credentials on our servers.
- Legal Authorities: If required by law, court order, or government regulation, we may disclose transaction or location details to comply with legal processes or protect public safety.
6. Children\'s Privacy (Google Play Safety Compliant)
tutlabs provides an educational platform for students of all ages. However, we do not knowingly collect personal data directly from children under the age of 13.
All tutoring accounts, demo sessions, and payments must be registered, booked, and managed by a parent or legal guardian who is 18 years of age or older. Children under 13 must not register accounts or submit personal profiles. If we discover that we have accidentally collected personal details from a child under 13 without verified parental consent, we will remove that information from our active databases immediately.
7. Account & Data Deletion Rights (Play Console Compliant)
In accordance with international privacy guidelines and Google Play Store policies, we provide a clean, free mechanism for you to request the complete deletion of your account and all associated personal information.
You have the right to delete your profile, lesson check-in records, camera snapshots, matching records, and all personal details. You can request this in either of the following ways:
- Via Email: Send an email to support@tutlabs.in with the subject line "Account & Data Deletion Request" from your registered email address.
- In the Mobile App: Open the tutlabs Mobile Application, navigate to your Profile Settings, click "Delete Account", and confirm your request.
Note: Upon submission of a deletion request, we will verify ownership and permanently erase all associated personal profile records, location history, and media files from our secure Supabase cloud databases within 3 business days. Anonymous transactional reference records required for accounting audits are retained strictly as required by commercial law.
